Tauri Docs
Build small, fast desktop apps with a web frontend and a Rust backend. Setup, project structure, native APIs, plugins, configuration and shipping.
Electron apps often ship at 100 MB or more because each one bundles its own browser. Tauri uses the webview the OS already has and puts your backend logic in Rust, so a basic app can be a few MB and use far less memory. You still write the UI with React, Vue, Svelte or plain HTML.
Version:
These docs cover Tauri v2. If you're coming from v1, note that the allowlist is gone. Permissions now live in capability files.
